This critical review focuses on the 《Gwangju Biennale》 and 《Busan Biennale》, two of the eight biennial art events being held in Korea in 2018. These two events surpass the rest in terms of their history, scale, and ability to meet global standards. The works of art sent to be featured in the event deal with various critical global issues, such as war, national division, human rights, immigration, refugees and deportation.
