• Kim Mooyoung Artist

    Kim Mooyoung, a native of Seoul, studied the art of film and video at the California Institute of the Arts (BFA and MFA). He held a solo exhibition titled Under the Flag (Hapjeong Zone) in 2017, and has participated in a number of group exhibitions at Deluge Contemporary Art in Canada, Soma Museum of Art in Seoul, and Basis Frankfurt in Germany. Kim has worked as an artist-in-residence at the Goyang Residency in Gyeonggi-do and the Frankfurt AIR in Germany, and is currently an artist-in-residence at the Geumho Art Studio.

  • Kim Daum Artist

    Born in 1983 in Seoul, Korea, Kim Daum graduated from Kookmin University with a BFA in sculpture. Kim focuses on various interfaces between the people living in modern society, while exploring a wide array of traces which derive from the inside, errors made by indirect experience, and distortion of memories. Since 2009, Kim has presented at several exhibitions such as DabangDabang Project (KT&G Sangsangmadang, 2014), When the Future Ended (Hite Collection, 2014), Censorship (Alternative Space Loop, 2014), Better than Universe (Daegu Art Factory, 2013), Progress under the Eyes (Amado Art Space, 2013) and held the solo exhibition RSVP, Art Sonje Lounge Project (Art Sonje Center, 2014). He participated in the 8th residency program at SeMA Nanji Residency. 

  • ETC Artist

    Founded by Lee Saem, Jun Bokyung and Jin Narae in 2012, the Enterprise of Temporary Consensus (ETC) is an artist collective which dubs itself as a virtual enterprise based on temporary consensus between three artists. The enterprise provides intangible artistic services under the vision of a “business hub for a human centered society and the future of art.” It also views social phenomena from the viewpoint of an artist who is marginalized in society and reconstitutes the borders between truth and fiction through their unique, artistic imagination.     

  • Bae Yoon Hwan Artist

    Bae Yoon Hwan received a B.F.A. in fine arts from Seowon University, Korea, and M.F.A. from the Department of Painting from Kyungwon University, Korea. Bae is interested in dealing with inherent problems in society and history, while weaving a narrative through drawings and paintings based on his personal life. The artist first held his solo exhibition WAS IT A CAT I SAW? at Insa Art Space in Seoul, Korea, and was selected one of the ten finalists awarded by the 36th JoongAng FineArts Prize organized by JoongAng Ilbo. 

  • Okin Collective (Artists’ group) Artist

    Okin Collective is an artists' group, which consists of Joungmin Yi, Hwayong Kim, Shiu Jin, named after Okin Apartment complex in Jongnogu, Seoul, where in which the first group project was held. And Sindae Kang is working together as a guest artist in 2017.

    The inaugural project, ‘Okin Apartments Project’ was stemmed from a visit to one of the artist member who lived in the complex where was to be demolished in July, 2009. The decision of redevelopment was abrupt so the tenants did not have enough time to prepare their move out. The project composed of researches the stories on the site including: the tenants’ unfortunate situation during the eviction process for the redevelopment project, traces left by the former residents, symbolic values of the modernist buildings, and historicity of the surroundings.

    According to the artists of Okin Collective, art’s role in society is to offer new perspectives on reality. They create hybrid situations through complex matrix of appropriation, pastiche, discovery of sites, borrowed linguistic fragments and different methods of practice. The improvisational quality of their practice offers an alternative way of working defined by cooperation and respect for difference, and the flexibility required for collaborative production is directly demonstrated in the structure of their works.

    The group has organized various projects, performances and exhibitions since its inception, including its solo show entitled Okin OPEN SITE at Okin apartments, Seoul(2010). It has participated in "Life, No Peace, Only Adventure" at Busan National Museum of Art(2011), "Open Hangar"(Spain, 2012), "Truth is Concrete"(Austria, 2012), "Acts of Vocing" at Total Museum(2013), “Festival Bo:m 2014”, "10th Gwangju Biennale(2014)”, “ARTEFACT FESTIVAL 15,”(STUK, Belgium, 2015), “Rien ne va plus? Faites vos jeux!,”(de Appel art centre, 2016) and more. They have been running Okin Collective Internet radio station [STUDIO+82](http://okin.cc) since September 2010.
