KIAF Seoul is the first and the largest international art fair in South Korea. Since 2002, many galleries from all around the world has been participated. KIAF SEOUL 2021, celebrating its 20th anniversary, about 170 international galleries will take part in this year's art fair. The art fair is opened on Wednesday with a VVIP preview session at COEX, will be open to the general public from this Friday, October 15th to October 17th. The online viewing room will also be open to the general public from Friday to October 23th. International galleries joining the fair include Pace Gallery, Perrotin, Lehmann Maupin, Sprueth Magers and Tang Contemporary Art. Galleries participating for the first time this year include Konig, Gladstone Gallery, Esther Schipper, Peres Projects and Various Small Fires.
KIAF SEOUL is gaining more attention from galleries from abroad, due to the launching of its 5 year long partnership with the Frieze Art Fair, starting from next year. Seoul will be the first Asian city to host this event. Frieze Seoul 2022 will run alongside KIAF ART SEOUL, with around 100 international galleries participating.
