Lim runs the independent publisher Mediabus and the project space Book Society. After studying film theory and production in college, he began planning, publishing and distributing art books by opening the bookstore The Books on the first floor of Art Sonje Center. Lim is also a senior editor of The Book Society series, which deals with books on books, and co-editor of Public Document, a non-periodic journal that records voluntary movement in a city. He planned and organized exhibits and projects on publishing including Xerox Project (Nam June Paik Art Center, 2015); Artists Documents: Art, Typography and Collaboration (Seoul branch of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, co-curator, 2016); Incomplete List (Ilmin Museum of Art, 2016); and Incomplete List Beijing (Paperlogue, 2016). Lim also co-translated Claire Bishop’s Radical Museology: Or What's Contemporary in Museums of Contemporary Art (Hyunsil Book, 2016); Alessandro Ludovico’s Post-Digital Print: The Mutation of Publishing Since 1894 (2017, Mediabus); and Ulises Carrion’s The New Art of Making Books (Mediabus, 2017) into Korean.
