Jongkwan PAIK

Jongkwan Paik works with experimental video production based on research and archiving. By repeatedly collecting images and sounds encountered in various aspects of daily life and recontextualizing these records and memories, he creates works that examine the structures that govern our lives while contemplating the nature of visual media. While studying psychology and electronics at university, Paik began producing studies using 16mm film and camcorders. He graduated from his master's course with a study of Chris Marker, while his thesis film, won the Best Director Prize at Jeonju International Film Festival and the Jury Prize at Seoul Independent Film Festival. has been screened and exhibited at venues including Venice, Paris, Berlin and Hamburg. Paik makes films for both the cinema and the gallery, and has presented his works , <#cloud>, at diverse venues & film festivals.
