Artist

Jang Jongwan

Born in 1983 in Busan, Jang studied painting at Hongik University in Seoul. After receiving residencies at Nanji Art Studio run by Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), and the Force Gallery in Beijing, China, he participated in programs aimed at discovering and supporting up-and-coming artists such as Emerging Artists by SeMA and Oriental Monsters by Art in Culture. Starting with S.O.S. (Save Our Souls) in 2011, he has held a series of solo exhibitions such as Weird Stone in 2012 and I Hear Your Voice in 2014. Jang has also participated in group exhibitions both nationally and internationally such as Asia Young Artists 100 in 2011 in Beijing, China, and Cynical Resistance in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
