Jeong Heewoo

Jeong majored in Asian painting at Seoul National University and earned her bachelor’s and Ph.D. there; she also received an MFA at California Institute of the Arts. The artist presented her works of documenting the Seoul road Gangnamdaero in solo exhibitions held at The Street Gallery of GS Tower (2008), Light Gallery of Moonshin Museum (2009), Noam Gallery (2011), and Art Space 53 (2013), while displaying her works made from rubbing various road signs, manholes, the surrounding walls of apartments, and wooden signs in Seoul at Boutique Monaco Museum (2012), Gahoedong60 (2013), and Gallery Grida (2014). The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture also selected Jeong as a participating artist in the Supporting Program for Art Creation and Artistic Activity in 2011, as well as in support projects for visual arts in 2013 and 2014.
