Art Sonje Center presents the exhibition 《Night Turns to day》 from December 28, 2019 to February 9, 2020. A collaboration with five women artists, this exhibition focuses on capturing the flow of time as it examines what has changed over the years, what has not changed, and what must yet be changed. The five artists - Eunyoung Kang, Song Min Jung, Chorong An, Jiyoung Yoon, and Hyein Lee - respectively use plants, video, photography, sculpture, and painting to create ways of recording the flow of time and its associated quantities and to recall the contexts of memories and settings from within scenes captured in the past. Some of them interpret the metaphors of night and day; others use the light of day to illuminate the nighttime’s hidden scenes newly. Opening as the 2010s draw to a close, this exhibition can hopefully offer a way for us to remember together the feeling of looking ahead to the still-unknown number that is “2020.”
