Art Busan 2019, which has turned the coastal city of Busan into 4-days art festival, has ended successfully. In the total of 4 days, including the VIP Preview on May 30, a total of 63,024 visitors came to Art Busan. This edition was meaningful in how the overall quality of the participating galleries has increased and it was visible to the visitors, collectors and the galleries who have been regular participants of Art Busan. One of the highlights of the fair was the joining of European galleries, Peres Projects (Berlin), Almine Rech (Brussels), Société (Berlin), König Galerie (Berlin) and Efremidis Gallery (Berlin). The committee confirmed the sales of some important and more costly pieces during the fair. Mat Collishaw's work was sold at 270,000 eur at The Page Gallery, Seoul. Yinka Shonibare CBE's signature sculpture work was sold at 200,000 eur. Dansaekhwa confirmed this year its strength again. Kukje Gallery, Seoul, confirmed the sales of two Park Seobo paintings and one Ha Chong-Hyun. Johyun Gallery, Busan, said their works by Lee Bae were sold out on the first day and Ai Weiwei from Tang Contemporary Art, Hong Kong, and Carole Feuerman from Art of the World Gallery were sold as well. These sales result was very positive, considering that the art market and economy are not at their best condition.
