Kang Ho Yeon earned his BFA in Sculpture from Seoul National University in 2011 and his MFA from the Royal College of Art in London, the United Kingdom, in 2016. His first solo exhibition 《Alternative Landscape》 (SongEun Art Cube, Seoul, 2013) was followed successively by 《Agreed Nostalgia》 (OCI Museum, Seoul, 2015), 《How to Shout YAHOO!》 (Korean Cultural Centre UK, 2016), 《planet 72.82m2》 (Insa Art Space, Seoul, 2017), 《Encyclopedia》 (Kumho Museum of Art, Seoul, 2018) and 《About Ground, Water, Light and Air》 (out_sight, Seoul, 2019). Kang’s sculptures have also been shown in many group exhibitions, including 《Byul Byul Dong Hang》 (OCI Museum, Seoul, 2016), 《Love Story》 (Amado Art, Seoul, 2017) and 《PICK ME: How to Use Media》 (Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, 2019). Kang was the recipient of various sponsorships and grants for emerging artists, including exhibition support from SongEun Art Cube (2012), OCI Young Creative project (2014), Korean Cultural Center UK Spring Open Call Winner program (2016), Kumho Young Artist (2017) and the Gyeonggi Promising Young Artist Sponsorship program (2019).
