Sangyoon Yoon makes the picture by dividing the drawing into one by right hand and the other by the left. This results in completely different atmospheres that make one believe they must have been done by different artists. Letting the hand take its course, unlike the left hand drawing which is completed by two strikes of thick brush strokes, the right hand painting reproduces the various desires that people in the world have through the painting structure constructed by 'id-ego-super-ego'. The language of painting he is building earns meaning after being broken one by one in the logical system of dichotomy. Consciousness and unconsciousness, meaning and no meaning, inevitability and coincidence, vertical and horizontal, technique and restraint, order and randomness, reproduction and expression, form and formlessness, the tame and the wild - all these opposite extremes fill up the worlds of the two hands. The painting language he is completing is drawing him into a more fundamental and essential problem. (extract from Gyeomsook Park’s critique)
