Hwayeon Nam’s solo exhibition Imjingawa will take place at Audio Visual Pavilion from December 7 (Thursday) 2017 to January 28 (Sunday) 2018. The exhibition began from a song the artist heard inadvertently years ago. While tracking the inception and footsteps of the song, her work reaches a new level as it meets with her questions on the concept of time, contemplation on archive and methodology on performance and choreography. Hwayeon Nam engages in research and performativity that creates reality while she follows the clues that had been or are currently are related to the song. She unearths remnants of experiences, memories and meanings of both individuals and societies, scattered in between time and space of the song and the artist. Her performativity initiated by the song reflects and redirects the event, time and space created by the song.
